The Extended Care Program provides a lively after school environment for the families of our St. Martin School community. While in our care before and after school, students enjoy a supervised environment with a variety of activities. Care is offered from 7:00-7:50 am before school and after school until 6:00 pm
Our Extended Care is organized and run by St. Martin School and not an outside organization, so the same St. Martin rules and values apply to our Extended Care program. We provide an entire school year of developmentally appropriate learning opportunities, games and creative activities. In Extended Care, children use our large grass area to run and play games, our blacktop area is used for chalk drawing, basketball games, foursquare and much more. We offer a dedicated classroom for art projects and experiences. Homework Club is supervised by St. Martin teachers, who are able to assist with homework as needed. Chess Club is very popular with students of all grades.
The Extended Care Program provides a variety of snacks for the students to enjoy after school. Fresh fruit and milk are always available. Cookies, crackers and other special treats are offered, as well. We take food allergies seriously and provide a variety of gluten-free and nut-free snack options.
We also offer an exclusive program for our middle school students in 7th and 8th grade. They are located in a separate classroom in our middle school wing and have access to the outside play areas. Computers are available for homework needs, and plenty of snacks are provided. This program is supervised by an Extended Care staff member with a strong educational background.
